Parenting

Don’t raise your children, raise yourself. This English proverb keeps deep wisdom. Kids unconsciously copy our manners, habits and even hobbies.

Approval about hobbies are my observations.
I will definitely explain my opinion at the end of the article.

Possessing deep wisdom Sadhguru teaches to raise yourself before you raise your kids. As you know, he is a yogi, mystic, bestselling author and poet.

He works tirelessly towards the physical, spiritual and mental well-being of people all over the world. Sadhguru is very unusual person in a very good way.

In his video devoted to the significant topic about parenting  he tells us that all children need a friend, not a boss. We don’t need to enforce our ideas upon a kids in order to prevent them from losing their independence. It will certainly affect their future.

According to Sadhguru we have to protect them from the wrong influences, the rest let them free. This looks difficult, but it’s what we have to do.

It’s obvious we don’t need to make all decisions for them. Our  children must be at least one step better than we. That’s why we aren’t always right persons to make decisions or give advice. Thus, everyone has his own path and purpose.

You can see the video here.

The older my son gets, the more I can notice that he copies the members of our family in some thoughts, ideas, reaction to the situation. I was forced to the conclusion that it’s important to teach us instead of our son.

My advice to you is to raise yourself all the time and start as early as possible.

The fact is that even when a child is not yet able to speak, he already absorbs our habits.

In our family, dad likes to give flowers to mom for no reason, he just wants to make her happy.

Therefore, Egor also likes to bring me flowers. He gives them for no reason as his dad using his pocket money. Nobody taught him that.

And one of the other interesting notions of this question. My mom loves to grow flowers. She has the whole house and the whole garden in flowers. My mom also loves to pick mushrooms.

Egor likes these hobbies and he does the same things as his grandmother. In this matter he has no one to learn from, except from his grandmother.

Thus, no matter what we do, no matter how we behave, kids always watch us and learn a lot from us.

Be conscious!
