New Year holidays

All kids love holidays. Especially pupils look forward to school holidays. It’s a great opportunity to have a nice time with their loved ones and play all day long.

Of course, it’s up to our kids to decide what games to pay and who to play with during the holidays, but we’re responsible for other aspects of this time.

It’s our contribution to the development of the child. In our power and interest to determine what is better for our kids and ourselves.

You can let them spend all their vacations in front of TV and playing computer games all day long or spend the holidays devoting most of the time to joint games and walks in the fresh air.

It was Egor’s first winter vacation. This is his first school year. Last winter we spent in Obninsk full of snow. The article why we moved to Sochi is here.

This winter is warm enough and completely without snow. We enjoy this winter. We have little rain, it’s usually sunny. The coldest temperature in a daytime in January is about 7 degrees Celsius or 44,6 degrees Fahrenheit, the warmest is 12 degrees Celsius or 53,6 degrees Fahrenheit.

Our plan to visit Obninsk in winter holidays was unfulfilled. We decided to make our trip a little bit later because this holidays in Obninsk were without snow too.

But Egor’s desire to watch and play the snow was too great, so we decided to go to Krasnaya Polyana. It’s a modern ski resort in Russia. Krasnaysa Polyana owes its sucess an popularity to the Sochi 2014 Olympic games. You can get there by any type of transport - trains, buses, cars. The distance from Sochi to Krasnaya Polyana is about 69 km or 42,87 mi.

We spent a great time there. It was sunny, a little bit colder than in Sochi. It was 2 degrees Celsius or 35,6 degrees Fahrenheit. There wasn’t much snow this year, but we could find snowy slopes and rolled down the hill and played snowballs.

The rest of the days we spent in Sochi. We walked a lot, visited parks and the seaside. Egor also played with his friends, but most of thetime we tried to spend together.

One day we spent a lot of hours in a recreation park "Riviera", which isn’t far from our house. In the park you can see about 240 different types and shapes of trees, walk along the sycamore alley, visit the unique rose garden and have fun on more than 60 attractions.

In this park Egor likes to make sand paintings. You need to choose your favorite picture and sprinkle it with sand of different colors. Eventually you’ll receive a wonderful picture. It’s a great pleasure for kids to play with sand.

In the park we found some roses and took a picture with them. It’s great to see flesh flowers in January. Egor enjoys to grow plants and take care of them. Very often he asks me to buy him a plant in a pot, not a toy. I told a little about this hobby here.

Today is a working day. My son is at school and I decide to tell you about our winter vacations.
