From the time we are on a healthy plant-based nutrition, I try to find biscuits with harmless ingredients in the supermarkets. Every time I get frustrated. About 99 % of biscuits contain unhealthy and even harmful ingredients.
Fortunately, nowadays we have some healthy food shops in Sochi which can provide enough variety of healthy raw biscuits. But my son doesn’t like them.
What to do in the situation when your child asks for delicious but unhealthy cookies because all children at school eat them?
We cook different biscuits at home, using various types of flour: oatmeal, wholegrain, rice flour, corn flour, flaxseed flour. My son in most cases grinds the flour himself using coffee grinder.
You can see different types of flour here.
Cooking biscuits is one of Egor’s favorite activities, I only help him. He decides himself what ingredients to mix. Often he uses coconut oil (he’s not allergic to coconut), bananas or oatmeal milk as a liquid ingredients. He uses cookie cutters or just cuts the dough with cubes.
These biscuits are sprinkled with some sugar powder or we use honey.
Sometimes we drink tea with dried fruit and raw chocolate. It’s contain only cocoa butter and carob. We can buy it or make it ourselves.
You can see a raw chocolate here.
To prepare a handmade chocolate need to melt the cocoa-butter and add some carob in it. You can also add raisin, nuts or dried berries. Pour into ice molds and keep in the fridge.
Enjoy it!
