About our life in Cyprus - Part 4

Winter during our time in Cyprus was mild and pleasant. Summer grass was scorched by the sun, but with the onset of winter everything was covered with a green grass carpet. It was beautiful!

There was only one thing wrong with it: there was no heating in our apartment. It’s a norm for Cyprus.

Perhaps in private houses the owners had installed individual heating. In our case we could rely only on air conditioners and electric heaters.

They helped well during the day, when the apartment was warmed by the sun. But during the nights devices couldn’t maintain a constant temperature. Therefore it was necessary to be warmed strongly.

At Christmas time in Limassol you can see elegant Christmas trees and beautiful decorations in some places, mostly in front of stores and in the city center.

As the winter darkness came early, in the evenings we often stayed at home. One day we came up with an interesting activity. We’ve bought some furniture at IKEA in Nicosia and we had some big boxes. We decided to make a house for our son. We had a large enough balcony and our son liked to play there. We made a big rectangle out of these boxes according to the height of our child. Then we cut a door and a window n the cardboard. Eventually, we covered the whole house with colored paper. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the picture of a fully finished house.

Twice a week on winter evenings Egor attended an art lab in the family center “Koleso” (it means “Wheel”). Egor was the littlest boy in a group. He was very fond of these classes. Zhanna was such a wonderful teacher, creative, able to find an approach to each child. Every lesson was different from the  other. If I’m not mistaken, she still runs this lab. I text the coordinates of the center, perhaps this info will be useful: 365, Agiou Andreou str., Efstathiou Court, Limassol, tel. +357 99 27 33 09.

I think that’s all for now about living in Cyprus.

We always remember Cyprus with gratitude.

Of course, I can talk about it all the time, but it’s time for new topics.
