About our life in Cyprus - Part 2

To reduce utility costs, some locals have the habit of spending summer in campings in forests. The air conditioning works almost 24 hours a day in summer. And of course nights in a forest are not so stuffy.

Other Cypriots prefer to buy property closer to the Troodos mountains where it’s not so hot in summer.

One day we were invited by local friends to visit their country house in Suna. It’s a very cozy and peaceful place 20 minutes away from Limassol.

The village consists of two-storey houses in one style. Each owner has a swimming pool, a parking, a barbecue area. The main benefits: temperature is lower in summer and there are no large flying cockroaches as in Limassol. Sometimes they can fly into a window or onto a balcony.

It’s difficult in Cyprus to live without a car, especially with small kids. Of course on a healthy plant-based nutrition you need to buy a lot of fruit and vegetables and the car will help you to cope with heavy bags and stifling heat in summer. In addition, you’ll get a freedom of movement. There are so many sights and picturesque places here.

We acquired an old but reliable Mazda familia. We bought it in a couple of weeks after our arrival. It’s impossible to buy it without pink-slip, which we received only several month later. That’s why it was registered to our Cyprus friend. Before leaving we also easily sold it in a few days, but with a big discount.

Since we had the car, Egor wanted his personal vehicle. We decided that it would be an excellent idea because of the large private area.

So we had visited Jumbo, the biggest toy store in Limassol and bought a nice red car. There you can find a big variety of toys for all ages, children’s clothes, everything for school and even more.

It was his first big car. He was really exited and drove his car every day around our and neighboring houses.

By the way, Cypriots are very friendly nation and they love kids. Egor in his red car had attracted their attention and they always were ready to greet him or give him a sincere smile.

Before returning to Russia we sold it. I hope it still makes a boy or a girl happy.
