Breakfast is an essential part of a daily routine. It provides our body with vitamins that will support high level of energy and fight off any signs of exhaustion.

In this case a green smoothie is a great variant of a healthy breakfast!

Green smoothie is, as you can notice from the name, green in color.

It’s concentrated from all of the green fruit and vegetables that are added to this smoothie.

Green smoothie for breakfast can improve your health and appearance because of such benefits:

  • As a living food provides recharging of cells and rejuvenate the body
  • Increases daily fruit an vegetable consumption
  • Contributes weight loss
  • Increases skin hydration
  • Improves digestion
  • Helps in overcoming depression
  • Provides cleaner skin

Ingredients:

  • ½ banana (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 cup of young spinach leaves
  • 1 in (2.5 cm.) ginger root
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp vanillas
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1-1.5 cup of water (may be more, if you like more liquid)

Mix all ingredients in a blender.

Enjoy your meal!

My son doesn’t like to work with blender, but he enjoys squeezing the juice.

We prefer to use less water in a smoothie and eat this meal in the mornings. We mix different ingredients and get a new taste every day. Instead of avocado and spinach leaves we use fresh or frozen berries. We can add 1-2 tbsp of  ground flaxseed with carob and sesame (cover with warm water for 5 minutes) or sprouted buckwheat (handmade). You can also grind flaxseed in a coffee grinder.

If you want to make sprouted buckwheat yourself, you need to cover it with cold water for 1-2 hours, then drain the water and put the buckwheat on 2 layers of gauze and cover it with another 2 layers of gauze. Wait for 1-2 days.

Some sources give us information that green spouted buckwheat is ready in 3-5 days. But I put it under the gauze only for 1-2 days. Then I keep it in the fridge. The reason is, even on the second day the buckwheat is already active and living.
